In a joint venture with Michael Graves, Architect, this 32,000 S.F. facility houses the local iron and steel industry’s historical museum, research center, and historical archives.  Included are multi-purpose education rooms, offices and administration spaces.  Specialized design features include large and small exhibit spaces, interactive display space, exhibit lighting and other system controls to protect the historical contents housed within.  Also integrated into the facility’s design were specialized archival storage, data communication and security system.  This building received four major design awards, including the Architect’s Society of Ohio 1991 Honor Award and the Eastern Ohio Chapter of AIA 1989 Honor Award as well as published in Progressive Architecture magazine.
