The new high school will house
1,803 students in 320,500 sq. ft. and cost $42,768,000. 81% of
the cost will be paid by OSFC, however, the natatorium is funded
totally with local funds. The new design reflects the 1924
classical Greek design, part of which will remain in place with
the existing auditorium on the same site.
The three story academic wings were
designed with three distinct units so that ninth and tenth grade
students share one unit. In the eleventh and twelfth
grades, the students then have more flexibility with scheduling.
This program is an attempt to retain more students through
graduation. This project
also includes the preservation of the classical architectural
façade of the existing Warren G. Harding High School along with
renovations to the interior. Renovations include new HVAC,
electrical, handicap accessibility and other cosmetic
improvements, such as seating and drapery. |
